WHO WE ARE:
The Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association (PUCA), is one of the largest state-wide Utility Contractors associations in the country. Serving Pennsylvania utility construction and excavation contractors, we are dedicated to providing resources, training and advocacy that will improve our member’s safety, work performance and profitability.
WHAT WE BELIEVE:
The membership of Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association (PUCA) strives to deliver a product equal to or better than design, on time, and at a fair price while at the same time receiving an equitable return on our investment. To that end, we seek fair and reasonable contract specifications, on-time payment for work performed and a regulatory environment which facilitates project completion without unduly encumbering the contractor, owner or engineer. The Pennsylvania Utility Contractors Association further believes the execution of our work should be conducted in accordance with certain standards and guidelines. When these standards and guidelines are followed, utility contractors, owners and engineers are assured of the optimum construction environment for bringing the project to successful completion.
WHAT WE DO:
PA’s utility and excavation construction contractors build and maintain our nation’s network of underground and environmental infrastructure. The U.S. industry is made up of small and large businesses that build and repair our nation’s underground infrastructure for drinking water, sewer, natural gas, electric power, and communication systems. This massive infrastructure responsibility also includes building and repairing their secondary distribution lines and other integral components like pumping stations and water treatment facilities. The industry provides hundreds of thousands of Americans well-paying jobs that support families and communities nationwide.
